Creating consistent, eco-friendly branding

The Challenge
When we started working with häagen-dazs®, we realized that the challenge of this packaging project was twofold. First, hägen-dazs® faced the issue of having too many different boxes for their product range, and wanted to streamline their approach for brand consistency and environmental sustainability. They needed just one type of box that came in two sizes, to drive a stronger brand message. Secondly, they wanted to ensure that their carbon footprint remained minimal so they wanted to use the same type of box to house their cakes, mooncakes and gateaux.

The Solution
Mojo Red’s design team had to apply innovative thinking to create an elegant, simple solution. We developed a packaging system that allowed two different box sizes to use the same type of inner inlay, cutting down material usage and reducing waste. A clear acetate film was positioned on the top of the box, to showcase the contents. The boxes are flat-packed and easily stackable, making them easy to store in retail outlets, and to transport.
The result was a stylish packaging system that reinforced the häagen-dazs® brand while remaining true to the need for sustainable packaging design.
